We all know that Suicide touches people, families, workplaces and communities everywhere, and that behind every one of the 720,000 lives lost each year is a person, a family, a friend, a colleague.
On this year's World Suicide Prevention Day on 10th September, The Stress Management Society is holding an interactive community webinar in order to explore how to better understand suicide, spot the signs when someone may be struggling, and create space for people to gete help and support; and talk.
To attend this webinar, you don't need to have all the answers; you just need to be willing to notice, to listen, and to connect.
The Webinar will cover:
- Understanding suicide and what can contribute to suicidal distress
- Recognising the signs that someone may be struggling
- Starting a compassionate conversation when you're worried about someone
- Listening without judgement and creating psychological safety
- Why connection, community and hope matter so much
- Where to find further support
Suicide prevention isn't just for clinicians. It's for all of us. Join other CWU members, Safety Reps and Trade Unionistst and work together to build communities where everyone feels seen, heard, and able to ask help.
